Brunch in the Boken: 10th and Willow

It’s my favorite part of the week…brunch time! This weekend my brunch partner in crime and I headed over to 10th and Willow, a classy brunch joint on the corner of – you guessed it- 10th and Willow.

10th and Willow is deceivingly spacious; we were sat all the way in the back of the restaurant (about 3 rooms back). I had always seen people waiting outside (in what I assumed to be a wait for a table), but turns out perhaps they were just hanging around outdoor smoking a cig? Because unless the entire town of Hoboken decides to eat there at once, there’s not going to be too long of a wait.

Immediately, I ordered a mimosa, but found it was mostly orange juice with a bit of champy. I like my mimosas with a bit more of 50:50 ratio; a splash of OJ in a sea of champagne is more like it. There were also a lot of patrons drinking bloody Mary’s, but I am simply not a fan of spicy tomato juice. Bleh!

The water was served in a glass canister at the table which I loved. I am notoriously a thirsty person (not just for mimosas), and having to constantly ask the waitress for water can be a bit tedious.

While we were waiting to order, we noticed that a lot of other tables were receiving bowls of mini muffins and special butter. The waitress brought us a basket of muffins, definitely not for the low carb at heart.

She only gave us two mini muffins in a relatively large basket which I found kind of odd. The spread they came with was delectable though…it was a mix of raspberry and honey mixed through butter.

My brunch date and I had trouble picking what to order, as the menu was filled with delicious options. Chocolate chip pancakes and breakfast sliders to name a few. I opted for the breakfast sliders, and my date went for an old fashioned omelette, both which were relatively tasty.

Breakfast sliders – egg & bacon bites on mini English muffins.

Omelette with spinach and cheese. I liked the side of pineapple and grapes too!

Service was decent, and I felt comfortable in the ambiance. Our meal came out rather slowly, which probably can be attributed to it being a busy weekend around noonish. Regardless, it was a great breakfast experience, and I would definitely recommend a trip to 10th and Willow. Make sure you go with a big group and encourage everyone to order different things and share plates for fun – that was one thing that was tough, we only had two people eating, so there were only two options for taste testing!

Til we meet again, brunch.
